Princess Aurora is one of the most pretty of the Disney Princess characters and first appeared in the Disney animated feature film, 'Sleeping Beauty' that was released to theatres on January 29, 1959 and produced by Walt Disney and was Walt's last animated feature film based on a fairy tale.

Like so many of the Walt Disney fairy tales and stories adapted to animated feature films, the story of Sleeping Beauty is based on the classic works of Charles Perrault and his fairy tale entitled "The Sleeping Beauty". Charles Perrault was a French author and has published numerous stories of beloved children today. His works have been included in "Puss in Boots," "Cinderella," "Bluebeard," "Diamonds and Toads ',' Hop o 'My Thumb", "I want ridiculous" and "Little Red Riding Hood'.

Aurora when he was young, he was betrothed to Prince Philip. During his christening ceremony of Maleficent curses the princess of the bad die before the sun sets on her sixteenth birthday, when shepricks her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel. With the help of her fairy friends, Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather, the princess doesn't die, but is put under a sleeping spell until she is awaken by a kiss.

Aurora has long golden blonde hair and blue eyes and she often wears a pink dress with a crown. In the film, her voice is performed by Mary Costa. The story of Sleeping Beauty and character of Aurora has inspired adaptions to stage, video games, storybooks and direct to video releases featuring the Disney Princesses. As a pink Princess Aurora, she is one of the most loved Disney Princesses and is adored by many young girls.
